Job Description
Planet Interactive is looking for an Environmental Designer to work onsite in Hayward, California with our automotive client.
Location: Onsite in Hayward, CA, with occasional travel 1-2/week in Freemont and Palo Alto (mileage expensed)
Duration: 3-6 month contract, with conversion based on performance
Pay range: $35-$45/hour, based on experience
As Environmental Designer, you will shape the current and future image of the brand by placing creatively designed signs, branding elements and wayfinding features in appropriate locations. You will be part of a team that designs, manages all signage and graphics requests made for all sites globally.
Responsibilities:
•Document and create global signage standards for interior offices and exterior sites
•Design wayfinding, printed graphics, interior/exterior building signage, event signage, branded apparel, and digital assets for offices, factories, and manufacturing facilities
•Design and update custom and standard signage
•Conduct site verification and document existing conditions and measurement to be utilized for application for design
•Partner with internal business teams on projects to formulate scope of work
•Engage with external vendors on signage projects
•Collaborate with Operations and Project Management teams to request any prep work to be done for signage install
•Engage internal Design team for any graphic design work that needs to be executed in-house
•Coordinate design, fabrication, and installation with vendor and multiple departments
•Manage on site vendor installations along with quality check and coordinate requestor and stakeholder sign off at completion
Qualifications:
•5+ years of relevant design experience
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
•Experience with wayfinding design, workplace design, and building signage
•Experience with graphic design, environmental design, interior design, or architecture
•Advanced skills in current versions of Adobe Creative Suite (MAC), Microsoft Office
•Strong typography and layout skills
•Portfolio showcasing clean and minimalistic design aesthetic
