Content Writer
Location: Remote
Pay: $40-$48 per hour

The Apps Curation Writer will work within a team of app experts and other writers to create content based on new app releases, major updates, innovative tech, and seasonal moments to make sure our customers know the coolest things happening with apps at all times. Day to day, this writer will deliver all types of written content for the App Store, including zippy blurbs, short-form summaries, well-researched deep dives, thoughtful developer interviews, and the occasional long-form article. Working cross-functionally with the broader App Store design, production, video, and business teams, this writer will be tasked with dreaming up fresh app stories, creating formal pitches and briefs, and ushering work from conception to publication. Crucial to this role is the ability to think globally. The Apps Curation Writer will work with teams across multiple countries, time zones, and dependencies. An ability to work on high-pressure projects with extremely tight deadlines is a must. A successful candidate will have an eye for design and familiarity creating informative and persuasive presentations in Keynote. Experience working with and presenting data a plus. Comfort presenting to both peers and senior leaders a plus.

Key Qualifications:
- 4 years’ experience writing editorial or marketing copy for traditional or online publications
- Passion and curiosity for apps and mobile technology
- Proficiency in evaluating apps and in-app content across a variety of categories
- Experience working with content management systems (CMS) and following an editorial style guide
- Experience working in a high-energy editorial environment subject to tight deadlines and quick turnarounds
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and solve complex issues in creative ways
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills and proficiency in Keynote
- Knowledge of key content channels and formats and effective strategic approaches. Focuses on the content audience with an editorial mindset that seeks to understand what audiences consume and how to create it
- Clear, effective communicator-verbally and in writing-with the ability to be persuasive. Excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling skills
- Highly collaborative team player who has the ability to inspire, motivate and lead others.
- Strong project management skills to lead multiple projects at once and juggle priorities in a fast-paced, professional environment.
- Ability to develop, organize, and maintain content documents.
- An uncompromising commitment to planning ahead and hitting deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work productively with counterparts in a cross-functional capacity
- Ability to analyze digital content performance
- Experienced in an array of content management systems specifically Confluence
- Comfort and experience working with Quip, and all iWork products: Pages, Keynote, and Numbers
- Bachelors in communications, journalism, or related discipline
