Collections Specialist Qualifications:
  • 5+ Years of Relevant Work Experience
  • Excellent follow-up and follow through abilities
  • Strong analytical, problem solving & decision-making skills (e.g., evaluate complex problems and properly judge when assistance is needed)
  • Process improvement oriented with participation and leading when applicable
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong use of large ERP, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must possess excellent Time Management, Organizational, and Communication skills
  • Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process and continuously meet any applicable state, county, and municipal requirements

  • Collections Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Collections Specialists are responsible for the resolution of open aging – proactively inquiring about collections, applying payments, and researching and addressing unpaid, denied and partially paid invoices
  • Has general understanding of the accounts receivable process
  • Weekly reporting of A/R Aging
  • Send out monthly customer statements
  • Follow Delegation of Authority for invoicing amendments
  • Collaborates with other departments such as Sales, Billing, and Customer Service to gather information to resolve customer issues resulting in payments with result to lower accounts receivable
  • Reconciles payments not applied correctly 
  • Monitors and responds on a routine basis to client accounts that either have failed payments, past due balances, or large balances to ensure accounts receivable is current
  • Reports to Controller
