Job Description

Our client is currently searching for a talented Hydraulics Engineer to support their Mid-Atlantic Region located in Springfield, VA or Virginia Beach, VA.
 
What you’ll be doing:
  • Leading the analysis, design, construction administration, and preparation of technical reports, plans, and specifications for stormwater related activities for various owners, including municipalities and VDOT
  • Preparing water quality analysis and BMP designs per Virginia standards
  • Overseeing and or preparing erosion and sediment control plans and SWPPPs
  • Working on multiple diverse projects simultaneously
  • The position includes developing client relationships and a commitment to quality, innovation, and honest value
  • Participate in business development, proposal preparation and client maintenance
  • Communicate with leaders and marketing resources to assist with development of projects
 
What you need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia
  • 7-15 years of technical and project management experience including, but not limited to:
  • Thorough understanding of VDOT’s Drainage Design Manual, standards, and practices
  • Well-versed in Virginia’s Stormwater Management Program
  • H&H Analysis
  • Bridge, culvert, and river hydraulics and HEC-RAS modeling
  • Experience using GEOPAK Drainage and or SUDA. OpenRoads experience a plus
  • Candidates should have an understanding and preferred to have experience with TMDL action plans and implementation
  • DEQ certified Stormwater Plan Reviewer and or BMP Inspector preferred
  • Candidates must be or willing to become an active member in AWWA, VLWA, APWA, and or ASCE
  • Be a brand ambassador for the company who engages in diversity and inclusion,

  • Exercise initiative and independent judgement in the solution of work problems
  • Be able to communicate effectively- verbal and written
  • Be able to multi-task in a team environment
