Pay Range: $29-$31/hr
Must Haves:
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the Career Placement Temp’s primary responsibility is to place all of the students enrolled in the MS in Financial Engineering program (IEOR Department) in full time positions and internships. The Career Placement Temp will work with the other IEOR Career Placement Officers to broaden and deepen relationships with current and prospective employers and to develop and support events, initiatives, and strategies to achieve the goal. Additional responsibilities include collecting/analyzing employment data, generating placement and related reports for the Department/School, assisting with the placement of students of other IEOR programs whose career interests align with Financial Engineering, and other projects as requested.

Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience required in career services, campus recruiting, career counseling or other comparable role
- Familiar with finance (i.e. financial engineering, investment banking, and asset management from quant and technology side are a big plus), analytics, data science, operations, consulting, management, and technology job markets, as is previous experience in career counseling, marketing, workshop planning or administration.
- Understand the career development opportunities and challenges affecting the constituents, consisting of a diverse population.
- Experience in a higher education institution with engineering or medical research background.

CHARACTERISTICS, DUTIES, & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Place Operations Research and Industrial Engineering students in full-time positions and/or internships. To achieve this goal, the office may engage in the following activities:
- Establish and maintain relationships with prospective employers to encourage the hiring of students.
- Establish a liaison role between the Department, School Administration, and External CPO's across SEAS concerning career placement.
- Post/advertise employment opportunities (full-time, internships, and part-time). Oversee graduate interns
- Counsel students individually and in groups to achieve career readiness and to become familiar with as many students as possible 75%
- Support and manage events and initiatives and collect/analyze accurate placement statistics; generate reports for admissions, recruiting, etc. 10%
- Assist with the placement of students of other IEOR and SEAS programs whose career interests align with MS in Financial Engineering. 5%
- Perform other duties as assigned 10%
- A bachelor's degree is required; graduate-level work is preferred. Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience required.
- Familiar with finance (i.e. financial engineering, investment banking, and asset management from quant and technology side are a big plus), analytics, data science, operations, consulting, management, and technology job markets, as is previous experience in career counseling, marketing, workshop planning or administration.
- Understand the career development opportunities and challenges affecting the constituents, consisting of a diverse population.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and administrative skills, as well as strong skills in written and oral expression.
- Strong computer literacy/proficiency required: an understanding and appreciation of student services database software and online resources and the willingness and enthusiasm to respond to the needs of PDL program students in an increasingly technologically oriented society. Proficiency with Google suite of products, MS Office, publishing software, social media, etc.
- Ability to analyze and work with a large volume of student, employer, and related data.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, with a high level of attention to detail. Candidates must exercise good judgment and flexibility. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Must communicate effectively and tactfully with staff, faculty, students, employers, and alumni in small and large group settings. Excellent command of English (verbal and written).
- Must be willing to work on occasional evenings and weekends, on a need basis.
- Positive, mission-oriented, forward-thinking attitude and sense of humor a must.
