Location:Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and mission-aligned Associate Scientist to join the Product Development and Research team. This role primarily works on scaling up new products and manufacturing processes. As an Associate Scientist, you are a technically savvy individual who loves a good data set and interesting problems to solve. You have the ability to thrive in a diverse, dynamic team. You are a self-starter that is naturally curious and enjoys working in a fast-past environment and have a tendency to continuously challenge assumptions to seek innovative solutions.

Skills:    
Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead process development & scale up work to commercialize new products from pilot stage through full manufacturing scale
  • Coordinate cross functional efforts, organize meetings, and facilitate knowledge transfer and decision making
  • Work effectively across functions (R&D, Supply and Demand functions) to deliver on project goals and timelines
  • Guide technical communication with external partners, vendors, and customers
  • Manage multiple projects and adhere to fast timelines
  • Mentor junior team members
  • 30% travel required
  • Other duties as assigned
Education:    
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar field.
  • 3 - 5 years food product development experience
  • Direct experience leading scale up projects large and complex in nature
  • Strong problem solver with extensive use of the scientific method as well as creative problem solving and experimental design
  • Self-starter that is naturally curious and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized and high attention to detail
  • Self-motivated individual with strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree Degree in Food Science, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar field.
  • 5 - 7 years food product development experience
  • Strong communication skills to present internally and externally, cross-functionally. 
  • Ability to develop, implement and own tools and processes. 
  • Adaptable to changing business priorities and pivots
Duration: 5 months
Pay: $68.75
