Art Director
Location: New York City, NY
Onsite: Tues/Wed/Thurs
Pay: $97.60 per week DOE
Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, 401K

Planet Interactive is seeking an Art Director to work with our prominent technology client on a 12-month contract.

This Art Director role will work on a variety of projects for both services. Projects may include creating and calibrating on new initiatives, branding new features, crafting seasonal, event or interest-based experiences, art directing illustrations and photography and sustaining current projects.

Art Director Key Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in the formal elements of design, typography, layout, balance, proportion, rhythm, emphasis, and unity.
  • An awareness of current trends in illustration, photography, design and typography.
  • An ability to collaborate with other art directors, agencies, UI designers, strategists, illustrators, photo editors and art buyers.
  • An understanding of good user experience, especially within service based apps.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to articulate ideas and be clearly understood by creative, project management, and development staff, both in verbal and in written format.
  • Ability to deliver quality designs in a tight timeframe.
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced, creative workplace.
  • Excellent digital file structure and asset management skills.
  • An avid awareness of entertainment, pop culture, fitness and the digital media landscape.
Art Director Tasks and duties:
  • Designing innovative and diverse experiences for editorial projects
  • Creating design and branding systems for new product features
  • Create designs that adhere to design principles in established creative direction and company standards.
  • Collaborating with the design team and cross functional partners to ideate and iterate on design solutions.
  • Prepare for creative reviews by crafting presentations and preparing designs
  • Consult with engineers and developers to ensure designs work within given capabilities, and the ability to problem solve issues.
  • Ability to spec pixel perfect designs and provide build-ready design files in a timely manner for hand off
