Description:
  • The digital design engineer SME will provide design support and EC inputs for the Fire Detection Replacement EC and Intrusion Detection Upgrades at RNP.
  • The candidate should be previously qualified to perform Nuclear power plant modifications and should be able to support outside engineering companies in providing Design Change packages.
  • Candidate should also have held calculation and 50.59 screener qualifications.

It is expected that the contractor works full time on site, is familiar with Duke Energy procedures and processes, maintains cyber security qualifications, hands-on qualifications and is a part of the critical group.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Review of Software Detail Design Documents; Development assistance and review of Implementation Plan;
  • Development assistance of preliminary Testing Outline;
  • Assistance in CDA/DA list creation and presentation to CSAT/CSIRT; and General EC and Design support, including Field Data Gathering.
Workers at this level solve more complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with limited supervision. Workers are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with even greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is progressingly complex and varied.?15 years discipline experience and unique SME skills.
