Bachelor's degree
2-4 years experience in an accounting/consulting firm that focuses on Nonprofits
exposure to NY state and city grants
Ability to work onsite 5 days a week

JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Government Grants and Contracts oversees the management of federal, NY State, and NYC contracts. Acting as a liaison with funding agencies on fiscal matters, this role supports the Director of Budgets and VP-Finance in crafting the annual budget. Collaboration with the finance team, regular engagement with executive staff, administrators, and program managers are integral to this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Establish and maintain a system for monitoring and tracking contract mandates, deliverables, and receivables.
-Manage contract amendments, close-out budget modifications, and necessary documentation for government contracts.
-Develop and maintain a comprehensive contract tracking system, ensuring accurate historical records.
-Monitor contract expenditures throughout their lifecycle, making cost-sharing adjustments with approval from relevant authorities to reflect appropriate labor distribution or related expenses.
-Maintain Organizations Position Control to ensure alignment of jobs and positions with funding contracts and budgets, synchronize Finance and HR regarding position management, and keep program managers informed of any changes.
-Assist CFO and VP Finance in preparing the annual operating budget.
Administer contracting documents, including Vendex Questionnaire and other mandatory paperwork.
-Collaborate with the Director of Budgets to develop contract budgets and budget justifications.
-Oversee the preparation and timely submission of monthly or quarterly vouchers and compliance reports to government funders.
-Prepare variance analysis for quarterly budget meetings with senior management and program managers.
-Coordinate with the APDs of Safe Haven I and II in submitting CoC NOFA and CoC APR for HUD Homeless Assistance Grants.
-Support CFO in establishing and maintaining government online procurement systems like HHS Accelerator, HHS Passport, Grants Gateway, and Grants.gov.
Interpret grant policies and procedures to fiscal staff and program managers.
-Assist in government contract audits and compliance activities as needed.
-Support annual year-end audit procedures.
-Undertake special projects as required.
