Job Description

Quality Systems Specialist – (Contract) – Remote but location in the following –  MA, NH, or RI
Pharmaceutical Manufacturer seeks a remote Quality Systems Specialist located in the northeast (MA, NH, or RI) to work the early shift (5am-2pm) with expertise in MasterControl QMS for a 6-month contract. Ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance and Systems and hands-on MasterControl expertise. This individual will have worked within a cGMP, cGDP, and ISO environment, ideally with ISO 9001. This requires extensive expertise in Excel and data analysis, having analyzed and generated reports in the past. Individual will support quality systems activities across international operations and ensure alignment with broader company standards. This is a hands-on role focused on QMS administration, compliance support, and continuous improvement, working closely with teams across multiple time zones. Lastly this candidate must be willing to drive onsite on occasion (infrequently). Opportunity offers a 6-month contract working on an international project.

Benefits:

  • W2 Pay $50-70/hr.
  • 1099 Pay $60- 75/hr.
  • A 6-month primarily remote contract

Responsibilities
Quality Systems / IMS Support
  • Maintain and improve the regional IMS/QMS to support consistent use across sites.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across regions to standardize processes and drive adoption.

Electronic QMS (MasterControl) Administration & Enablement
  • Support deployment/expansion of an electronic QMS platform (MasterControl preferred).
  • Manage controlled documentation workflows, including:
    • routing/coordination of reviews and approvals
    • execution of change control activities for controlled documents
  • Create or refine end-user guidance and training content to support system usage and compliance.
  • Perform key system administration tasks such as user access maintenance and communication of system updates/releases.

Quality Event Support (Complaints / Investigations / CAPA)
  • Assist with customer-related quality events from intake through closure:
    • initial issue definition and containment actions
    • root cause evaluation.
    • development and follow-through of CAPA
  • Provide timely status updates to stakeholders during active investigations.

Metrics, Audits, and Continuous Improvement
  • Compile, trend, and summarize quality performance indicators, support reporting needs.
  • Support audit readiness and follow-up actions to improve compliance and effectiveness.
  • Partner with internal groups on topics such as investigations, material review, calibration, and CAPA.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years  in Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, or a closely related discipline
  • Hands-on experience with a QMS and document control processes (MasterControl preferred)
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 (or comparable quality standards)
  • Experience supporting audits and compliance activities, ideally on international projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills (root cause analysis, CAPA)
  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience working effectively across international teams/time zones.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., life sciences, manufacturing, cGMP/cGDP)
  • Advanced ISO 9001 knowledge
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
