Job Description

Title: Copy Writer/Creative Writer
Pay: $44- 55 per hour
Location: New York City
Duration: 1-year contact

The Planet Group is seeking a copy writer to develop multi-channel marketing and communications to support client retention, client engagement, lead nurture and lead generation for internal advisors, clients, and prospects.

This individual should understand and can execute the workflow of creative projects and comfortably collaborate with subject matter experts, work closely with various team members, and deliver projects with precise attention to detail—all in a timely and efficient manner.

Projects range from print and digital collateral, presentations and client communications to video content, social posts, blog articles, whitepapers, newsletters, and digital campaigns.
This individual will also focus on internal communications, delivering weekly updates via an HTML-based intranet site.

This is a fast-paced environment where strong communication skills, coordination across multiple stakeholders, and client service are essential to maintaining and enhancing our business.

Responsibilities:

  •  Collaborate with creative teams, business leaders and subject matter experts to create and publish written content that supports the firm’s business strategies
  • Translate and version complex financial and workplace topics into digestible pieces that appeal to the target market or audience
  • Draft language for video scripts, on-screen narratives, ad copy, social posts, blog articles, client communications, marketing materials, and other content as needed
  • Manage rigorous editorial, subject matter, and regulatory review process for content products.  There is a significant amount of project management required. Adeptly navigate systems for project management and collaboration according to team processes
  • Refresh existing materials, ensuring consistent branding and messaging, to maximize impact across marketing initiatives and business development
  • Adhere to existing brand guidelines including tone, voice, and research-tested messaging architecture to maintain consistency
  • Copy edit and proofread print and digital content to ensure accuracy and clarity
  • Find and cite qualified references for articles, white papers, and case studies
  • Publish weekly updates to the team’s intranet communications hub
     
Skills:
  •  Knowledge and experience with financial concepts and the finance industry.
  • Ability to translate complex topics into easily understood copy using multiple voices and styles
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and experience
  • Proven copy-editing skills and experience
  • Proven proof-reading skills and experience
  •  Excellent time management, project management, and self-motivation with the ability to handle multiple projects, and switch gears based on project prioritization
  • Personal commitment to accuracy, attention to detail and meeting tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of and experience with the nuances of multi-channel (print, web, email, social, video, audio) content
  • Experience in compliance-driven environment
  • Experience updating HTML-based communications platform is a plus, but not required
  • Exemplary discretion and judgment
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, writing or communication
