Sr. Footwear Product Developer
Location: Beaverton, OR
Contract length: 12 months
Schedule: Onsite in Beaverton, OR
Pay: $44-46.67/hr, DOE
The Planet Group is looking for a Sr. Footwear Product Developer to join our well-known retail brand on a roughly 12-month contract! This role is 40 hours per week and will be onsite in Beaverton, OR. This person will focus on Footwear moments and create newness with popular footwear. The primary focus will be on revamping past models, not new model designs.
Sr. Footwear Product Developer Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Engineering or related field
- Will accept suitable combination of education, experience or training with footwear experience
- Demonstrated understanding of footwear pattern engineering, tooling, and manufacturing processes
- 3+ YOE in Technical Product Development for Footwear
- Effective Collaborator adept at working productively within a team
- Experience building trust to collaborate with internal and external partners
- Experience facilitating meetings, driving consensus, and influencing others
- Ability to prioritize multiple work streams and competing priorities
- Proven verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
- Proven ability to identify & suggest cost effective solutions in footwear is preferred
- Experience in project management, problem-solving scenarios and applying solutions
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated Self Starter that is willing to learn and grow
- A demonstrated ability to tinker, to create prototypes, to explore, learn, and to find ways to improve products through physically altering their state
- Ability to read technical drawings, sketches and/or 3D digital files
- Basic knowledge of materials, test methods, and properties and application
Sr. Footwear Product Developer Description:
- Drive product and process excellence within a team environment for your assigned projects
- Working on complex footwear projects, convert a project brief and a 2D design rendering into a 3D sample that meets the needs of the consumer as well as the needs of the business
- Utilize your knowledge and experience to enhance product excellence
- Engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability and sustainability targets
- Ensure that projects are ready for the commercialization process and can ultimately be manufactured
- Work collaboratively with key functional partners throughout the Product Development process, including Footwear Engineering, Footwear Product Testing, Footwear Material Design and Material Development, Product Design, Product Management, Product Merchandising, Sourcing and Operations, and overseas partners
- Navigate the client's matrix to ensure that our processes model and match the client's Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence
- Act as the key point of contact for overseas partners and ensure that communication during the product development process is clear and accurate
- Take athlete feedback and apply it to make product improvements
