Qualifications (Required):

  • 2+ years of experience in student affairs, community engagement, program coordination, or related professional experience.
  • Strong front desk or customer service experience, with demonstrated ability to manage check-in processes and maintain welcoming public spaces.
  • Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting (Excel, Google Sheets required; Tableau or Google Data Studio a plus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse communities.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and adapt to evolving priorities with professionalism and discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Tableau or Google Data Studio experience is a plus
  • Experience with WordPress and TeamUp preferred but not required.
  • Experience designing communications and promotional materials; familiarity with social media management and graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud) preferred.
Job Description: 

The Program & Community Operations Coordinator is a part-time professional staff member responsible for managing day-to-day community operations for the Center for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion. Reporting to the Center Assistant Director and working closely with the DEI team, this role blends front desk operations, student engagement and check-in management, communications and promotional design, data tracking and reporting, and partnership development.

The Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring timely, inclusive, and well-organized programming that fosters belonging and strengthens community across Questrom.
 

Front Desk & Student Check-In (60%)
  • Serve as the primary front desk representative during assigned hours; welcome visitors, respond to inquiries (in person, phone, and email), and provide appropriate resource referrals.

  • Manage student and guest check-in processes for drop-in hours and events; maintain a professional, inclusive, and welcoming environment.

  • Maintain and restock community resources (e.g., snacks, supplies, informational materials) to ensure the space remains accessible, organized, and event-ready.

Communications & Promotional Materials (10%)
  • Create and distribute promotional materials for Center events, initiatives, and resources across multiple channels (digital signage, social media, email, and print).

  • Maintain accurate event listings on the Center’s website and ensure timely posting on Questrom and Boston University calendars.

Data Management & Analysis (20%)
  • Track and summarize attendance, engagement metrics, and program outcomes for Center events and initiatives.

  • Maintain organized records and support reporting efforts to inform programming decisions and continuous improvement.

Partnership & Community Engagement (10%)
  • Collaborate with the DEI team and campus stakeholders to identify opportunities for student development and capacity building.

  • Advocate for student needs by identifying common barriers and recommending process improvements or conflict-resolution strategies.
