Brand & Design Guidelines Writer
Location: Remote, but must be local to CUL, CUP, SEA, or NYC. If in NYC will work PST hours.
Schedule: 40 hours
Duration: 6 months with potential to extend
Pay: $69-$71 DOE

The Planet Group is looking for Brand & Design Guidelines Writer to join our well-known Fortune 500 client on a 12-month contract, working a remote schedule.

Brand & Design Guidelines Writer | Qualifications:

  • 7+ year's experience relevant writing, creative, and brand experience.
  • Passion for brand voice and relentless in preserving its authenticity.
  • Interest in new technologies and user-focused product experiences.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Highly skilled copywriter and scriptwriter who can distill complex ideas into clear, compelling messaging.
  • Extremely precise and agile with language. Delights in the nuance of each word and detail.
  • Extensive brand-writing experience, forging and evolving brand voice across new and existing brands.
  • Understanding and appreciation of design. Relevant or translatable experience creating and implementing design guidance, instructional materials, and/or brand style guides.
  • Ability to translate technical details into colloquial, approachable instruction.
  • Expertise in applying storytelling structure to a diverse range of applications — from design guidelines to instructional scripts to presentations — ensuring clear, impactful flow and communication.
  • Adaptive to writing for audiences of varying design skill, from beginners to professionals.

Brand & Design Guidelines Writer | Description:

  • Responsibilities include establishing strategic direction and brand voice, writing and editing design documentation and instructions, and finding new ways to improve how we convey technical information through the voice of the brand for audiences of varying levels of skill.
  • This role will leverage accessible and inclusive language to create clear and engaging content for a variety of formats.
  • The role requires a strong facility with style, grammar, tone, and voice — and the ability to apply those tools to shape and sharpen how the voice of the brand manifests through each detail.
  • A diplomatic approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay highly organized is essential.
