Job Description
The Sr. Accountant reports to the VP of Finance. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records, preparing journal entries, and assisting with month-end close processes. You will also help ensure compliance with internal controls and assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Responsibilities:
-Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
-Assist Controller in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, coordinating with team members to meet deadlines.
-Analyze financial data and trends to support strategic decision making, providing management with actionable insights.
-Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies, staying current with updates to standards.
-Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and information to support audit activities.
-Support internal controls and recommend process improvements to strengthen the financial reporting environment.
-Mentor junior accounting staff and offer guidance on best practices, fostering professional development within the team.
Education & Experience:
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
-3+ years of experience in accounting.
-Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (like QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.)
-Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial regulations.
-Public accounting industry experience
-CPA preferred
-Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
-Strong organizational and time-management skills.
-Effective communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
-Target salary is 95-100k + 10% bonus
