Job Description
The Planet Group is seeking a hybrid contract Senior Product Designer for one of our clients, a Fortune 500 leader recognized for innovation and global reach, offering cutting-edge solutions that impact millions of users worldwide.
The Senior Product Designer role requires a balance of right-brain creativity and left-brain analytical thinking. This position demands both technical expertise and the ability to translate creative ideas into solutions within a highly technical environment. A critical part of the role involves conducting thorough research on the capabilities, successes, and shortcomings of our previous portals, and leveraging those insights to drive meaningful UX improvements.
Location: Hybrid (3 days on-site, Tues-Thurs) in Lisle, IL
Pay: $60-$70/hr+ depending on experience
Duration: 6 months to start with potential for extension
Senior Product Designer Responsibilities:
Lead and execute Figma-centered design within digital product journeys.
Apply advanced knowledge of Figma to advocate for user needs throughout the design process.
Ensure all work meets user and business requirements, brand standards, and UX/UI best practices.
Employ user research, usability testing, empathy, and strong communication skills to support user-centered design recommendations.
Create and deliver information architecture, user flows, prototypes, and UI specifications for exceptional digital products.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver designs that are visually compelling, functional, accessible, and ready for development.
Demonstrate mastery of UX processes and toolkits.
Design holistic experiences aligned with big-picture strategy.
Utilize frameworks and hypothesis-based approaches to solve design challenges.
Tackle undefined, complex projects and lead them from start to finish.
Own and influence key metrics related to user experience and business outcomes.
Drive alignment through design facilitation and presentation skills.
Synthesize multiple inputs and stakeholder feedback into cohesive design solutions.
Mentor junior designers and onboard team members onto collaborative projects.
Senior Product Designer Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
Expert-level Figma skills.
Advanced component system usage.
Efficient prototyping.
Advanced vector work within Figma.
Ability to deep dive into Figma files.
Experience working with and contributing to an Enterprise Design System.
Good presentation skills.
Engaging in working sessions and/or workshops.
A great portfolio that demonstrates problem-solving and collaboration.

Ability to take direction and develop fresh solutions without all initial requirements.
Active collaboration and strong team orientation.
Meticulous attention to detail and highly organized.
Ability to clarify expectations and deliver on mutually agreed deadlines.

Nice-to-Have:
Working knowledge of Azure Dev Ops (ADO).
Experience in Transportation Sales or Logistics.
