Overview We are seeking a Lucidworks Fusion Engineer to join our Software Engineering team supporting and advanced materials. You will play a key role in the Redesign, AElt Sites, and Digital Asset Management (DAM) implementation projects.
This initial engagement is for 3 months, with strong potential to extend long-term support contract, which renews annually for up to five years. High-performing engineers will have the opportunity to continue supporting ongoing Fusion and search-related initiatives. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and curate Lucidworks Fusion indexing and querying pipelines.
Develop and maintain data ingestion, relevancy tuning, and search optimization solutions for external digital platforms.
Integrate and leverage Lucidworks Fusion AI capabilities, including hybrid search, LLM integration, and other advanced search features.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop, test, and deploy new search-related features into production.
Ensure Fusion-based search infrastructure is scalable, stable, and high-performing.
Provide technical documentation, troubleshooting, and support transition to the long-term AMS team.
Required Skills & Experience
Hands-on experience with Lucidworks Fusion (preferably Fusion 5 or later).
Strong understanding of Apache Solr, indexing, and search architecture.
Proficiency with JavaScript and Python for scripting, automation, and integration.
Demonstrated experience developing and curating Fusion pipelines (indexing, querying, signals).
Familiarity with Fusion AI / ML capabilities, including hybrid and LLM-based search.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills within distributed teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
Nice-to-Have
SME-level expertise in Lucidworks Fusion or enterprise search implementations.
Experience managing scope creep and maintaining project focus and deliverables.
A patient, collaborative, and consultative approach when working with stakeholders and non-technical partners.
Familiarity with enterprise CMS/DXP systems and large-scale digital search environments.
Prior experience in enterprise consulting environments.
