Job Description
Introduction The Civil Project Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and execution of commercial civil site development projects. This includes grading design, utility layout, stormwater management, and erosion control. The role involves close collaboration with senior engineers and project managers to ensure all designs meet client expectations, technical standards, and regulatory requirements. Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
4–5 years of experience in civil engineering design and project management
Proficiency with Civil 3D software
Strong technical drafting, detailing, and calculation skills
Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Experience leading complex or large-scale civil engineering projects
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or the ability to obtain licensure in the near term
Familiarity with CAD, BIM, and simulation tools
Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability standards
Strong leadership and mentorship skills
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of detailed engineering plans for commercial civil site projects
Prepare and review technical drawings, calculations, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance
Utilize Civil 3D to develop 3D models, construction documents, and grading plans
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate designs and resolve technical issues
Conduct quality control reviews to ensure adherence to technical and regulatory standards
Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers to enhance team capability
Participate in client meetings and presentations, communicating design updates and recommendations clearly
Support project delivery through effective schedule, budget, and resource management
Occasionally travel to client sites or project locations as needed
