COE EE Monitoring & Controls Consultant Location: Detroit, MI Contract: 10 months Schedule: 3 days onsite Pay: $55-60.15/hr, DOE
COE EE Monitoring & Controls Consultant Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Risk Management, or related field.
Experience in monitoring, internal controls, compliance, or risk management.
Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
Strong problem?solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to translate complex data and control concepts into understandable insights.
Strong background in monitoring, controls, or auditing
Confident challenging the status quo in a constructive, business?minded way
Willing to push boundaries and advocate for the right outcomes
Open to listening to new opportunities, perspectives, and ideas
Comfortable going against consensus when necessary to support the broader mission or cause
Highly driven and action?oriented, with a strong bias toward execution
Exceptionally detail?oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
COE EE Monitoring & Controls Consultant Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in industries such as energy, manufacturing, finance, or IT consulting.
Familiarity with frameworks (e.g., COSO, ISO 27001, NIST).
Knowledge of process automation, system monitoring tools, or control testing technologies.
Certifications such as CISA, CRMA, PMP, or similar.
COE EE Monitoring & Controls Consultant Responsibilities:
Monitoring & Control Framework Development
Design, implement, and maintain monitoring frameworks aligned with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Assess existing controls and identify gaps or inefficiencies; recommend enhancements.
Develop standardized methodologies for ongoing monitoring, issue identification, and remediation tracking.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze operational, compliance, and performance data to identify trends and risk indicators.
Build dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools for stakeholders across business units.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on monitoring results.
Risk & Compliance Support
Ensure processes adhere to internal controls, governance frameworks, and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with internal audit, compliance, and operations teams to support control testing activities.
Assist in remediation planning and follow-up to ensure timely resolution of issues.
System & Technology Integration
Evaluate and help implement monitoring technologies, automation tools, and control systems.
Partner with IT and engineering teams to integrate monitoring requirements into system designs.
Support continuous improvement initiatives through automation and digital monitoring solutions.
Consultation & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a subject matter expert on monitoring strategy, control design, and risk mitigation.
Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and presentations for stakeholders.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams.
