A battery technology company is looking for an experienced senior accounting / finance professional to drive growth as we build the infrastructure and systems needed to support Company level commercialization efforts. This role will report to the VP of Finance and will leverage deep technical accounting experience to build financial systems and controls as we set our site on IPO readiness. We are looking for candidates with a strong vision to lead the development of processes, reporting procedures, budgeting and modeling to inform our management’s decision making. We want an individual who will learn our technology and business strategy, create tools to facilitate our execution and continuously improve all our processes and procedures.
The core responsibilities of this role will be to manage financial close and reporting including potential future SEC filings, and internal management reporting while also developing and coordinating financial planning, budgeting, and modeling. In addition, this role will be a key member of the Company’s management team who will have the opportunity to contribute throughout the Company as it grows.
This senior position will work closely with the finance and accounting teams as well as all other departments to execute the core responsibilities described above as well as to support the overall finance function and broader management team. Depending on the activities ongoing any given week this role will work from the office or from home and in general we all support a flexible working environment.

Responsibilities:
- Lead internal and SEC financial close and reporting
- Be the primary technical accounting expert to document customer, partner, and vendor contracts and transactions
- Manage financial planning and budgeting processes
- Ensure quality control over financial reporting and financial transactions
- Assist with the development and documentation of business processes and policies
- Continuous improvement of quality and efficiency of systems, processes, and internal controls
- Bachelors / Masters degree
- 10+ years of experience including similar core responsibilities, and experience in public accounting
- Due to federal regulation, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Indirect supervision of the activity of cross functional teams to create and execute plans
- Mentoring of junior staff
