Senior Display Engineer

Seeking an engineer to join a team that makes innovations in display driving methods for electrophoretic display systems.  In this role, you will primarily be responsible for developing and validating novel driving schemes to support adoption of displays in new applications. In addition, you will support new display product development through in-depth analysis of electro-optical performance and manufacturability.  Activities include designing and executing electro-optical experiments, developing algorithms for driving displays, and performing in-depth analysis of display performance.  You will be a key team member and will be expected to take on challenging exploratory projects that lead to product improvement and new products in a culture of open review and critical discussion.  

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new display algorithms for products and new applications
  • Develop technical strategies for commercialization of display algorithms
  • Design and execute electro-optical experiments to characterize display performance
  • Perform statistical analysis and build mathematical models to understand electro-optical phenomena and to study behavior of display materials
  • Investigate root causes of performance-related problems, including data mining and full systems analysis
  • Develop plans to achieve technical goals and to align them with corporate priorities
  • Create and document intellectual property

Qualifications
  • M.S. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, or a related field plus four to seven years of industrial experience, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, or a related field plus two to five years of industrial experience
  • Experience analyzing complex systems using mathematical methods for solving practical problems
  • Expertise in one or more of the following or related areas: signal processing, systems theory, statistical and mathematical modeling, system identification
  • Programming experience is required: strong preference for proficiency with MATLAB and/or Python and familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts
  • Experience with electronic devices and laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generators
  • Self-directed, motivated, and hands-on personality
  • Excellent troubleshooting, teamwork, communication, and strategic development skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
