- Managing, hiring, and developing the mechanical design team
- Execute site master planning, concept designs and preliminary engineering phases, and overseeing the detailed design phases.
- Providing Technical Guidance and Solutions to the mechanical department, and clients
- Mentoring and Training junior engineering staff
- Assist in development of group systems, procedures, standards, and knowledge management
- Prepare and participate in project proposals, man-hour estimating and client presentations
- Participate in presentations at industry conferences and writing of papers in publications. Identify and research future industry trends. Keep on top of technology and industry developments
- To develop, organise and control programmes to eliminate existing or potential mechanical /engineering problems and deliver plant improvements
- Provide technical backup to the operations teams in resolving complex mechanical system problems

Skills & experience required:

- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) required
- 15+ years of relevant and successful experience in an environment with Laboratory, Biotechnology and pharmaceutical engineering facility design and construction
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytic, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Advanced time management and organisational skills
- Leadership skills, managing people for project safety, quality, and delivery
- Participate in project engineering coordination activities
- Results and customer oriented, communication skills, listening and working in a team
