Job Description

Our client, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Laboratory Testing and Certification Technician. This service-oriented individual will be responsible for testing & certifications of biosafety cabinets within our clients’ lab spaces.  The ideal candidate will have the NSF certification or an interest in obtaining the certification. 

Essential responsibilities:
  • Working with clients and service managers to coordinate and schedule work.
  • Assure gas decontamination and certification of biological safety cabinets and chemical fume hoods are performed per contract and industry standards.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and/or transmitting project reports and certifications.
  • Assuring the maintenance/certification of equipment for decontamination, certification, and sterilization are current.
  • Periodically provide support for decommissioning, laboratory equipment decontamination, and calibration.
  • Provide support for closure assessments associated with our client’s R&D facilities, labs, pharmacies, and clean rooms.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years' work experience as an instrument/field technician, knowledgeable in monitoring equipment, lab equipment, field testing and/or equipment maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight stays.
  • Flexibility with working hours, including possible off-hours and weekends.
  • Successful completion of a physical examination and drug screening is required prior to employment. 
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in United States without sponsorship.
Preferred requirements:
  • Experience with testing & certification of biological safety cabinet services.
  • Knowledge of fume hood and cabinet testing standards and testing instrumentation.
  • Experience with laboratory building systems, and/or laboratory infrastructure.
  • OSHA 40-hour training.
