Tax Filing Back Office Sr Analyst
Project expected to last 6 months potential for extension
Remote - work EST of CST business hours
Pay Rate: $29.60-34.60/hr
Must have:
5+ years Tax Filing in Shared Services
Experience with Deposit and Reconciliations and Agency Relation
Excel - pivot tables, vlook-ups, marcro development
experience with Agency requirements for Payroll tax filing deposits and returns
Nice to have:
Master Tax
You will be responsible for the following key duties:
-Serve as the primary escalation point for any issues related to deposits and reconciliations.
-Focus on ensuring the smooth operation of deposit and reconciliation processes.
-Provide subject matter expertise, offering guidance and training to associates and clients regarding deposit and reconciliation procedures.
-Review and approve funding requests, ensuring accurate daily backup balances.
-Evaluate and recommend necessary changes to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and communicate these changes to the Audit and Compliance teams.
-Respond to SAS70 documentation requests.
-Coordinate testing for updated interfaces related to deposit and reconciliation processes.
-Identify areas for process improvement and effectively communicate suggestions to management for further action.
-Perform variance analysis on audit controls, escalating issues or conducting in-depth analysis as required.
-Ensure all EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) setups are accurate, with a focus on facilitating EFT payments wherever possible.
-Monitor key performance metrics, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions to management.
-Lead and/or coordinate training for new associates or processes to ensure proper onboarding.
-Meet periodically with the Service Delivery Manager (SDM) to report on metrics, ongoing issues, and improvements.
-Assist with the onboarding and implementation of new clients.
-Support the offshore transition of Deposit and Reconciliation (DR) tasks for Tax Filing Shared Services (TFSS) clients and oversee their continued operation.
-Compile, analyze, and report on key metrics and financial data.
-Support the testing and maintenance of tax filing software, specifically Master Tax.
-Act as a backup to the manager for financial reporting and monthly tasks.
-Drive the creation and implementation of new processes, particularly for the Canadian region.
