Job Description
Job Purpose:
Support the MCP facilities planning team with identifying and documenting elements with-in all R&DE buildings. Also support the team in additional activities on assigned projects.
Core Duties:
Strong understanding of Auto CAD and read architectural drawings/building plans.
Able to accurately decipher document information.
Strong overall understanding of all Microsoft Office Programs.
Must have a high level of Excel skills, able to create macros, tables, link files and create and update tracking sheets.
Be a liaison with campus partners to support project document management.
Ensure the preparation of required project documentation.
*-Other duties may also be assigned.
Education & Experience:
Minimum of two years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
This will involve a lot of walking, a couple of miles a day (often up and down stairs) and marking the floor plans while on site and then coming back to the office and updating the logs
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong understanding of architectural drawings and buildings as as-builts.
Ability to read plans and accurately represent on CAD and in Excel database.
Proficient in Auto DAD, Excel and all Windows based products.
Work cross functionally with other departments.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently stand/walk, sit, perform desk based computer tasks and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
Occasionally use a telephone, write by hand, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.
Kneel, crawl, climb ladders, reach/work above shoulder, grasp forcefully, carry push, and pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
Ability to maintain a valid non-commercial California driver's license.
Auditory acuity with ability to hear horns and bells.
Ability to climb scaffolding, ladders, stairs, etc.

Working Conditions:
May work in active residential areas, dining & kitchens or outdoor environments.
May be exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures, be exposed to high voltage electricity, radiation or electromagnetic fields, lasers, noise in excess of 80dB TWA, allergens/biohazards/chemicals/asbestos, or heavy metals or work on roofs at heights greater than 10 ft.
May drive vehicle day and night.
Must wear personal protective equipment as defined/required by job assignments.
May work extended hours, evenings.
Work Standards:
When conducting university business, must comply with the California Vehicle code of driving requirements.
