Staff Accountant

Must Have:
Bachelors Degree Required
2+years of relevant experience.
experience in fixed assets, journal entries, Health Care and leases.
Proficient with MS Office applications, particularly Excel (Pivot, V-lookup, and Formula).
NIce to have:
Accounting, Finance or Business is preferred for the degree’s subject matter
Public Accounting experience at Big 4 or large regional firm preferred
Healthcare background preferable
Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains general ledger systems preferred.
Our Client is seeking a highly motivated individual who will maintain and control the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization as well as apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that include analytical work and thorough review of the financial records.
Duties:
· Prepare daily journal entries to record transactions in preparation for the month-end financial activities including cash, payroll, account transactions and analysis, intercompany eliminations, fixed assets, investments, lease, grants etc.
· Perform the processing of functional activities such as accrual expenses, depreciation expenses, amortization expenses and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries, if necessary.
· Full-cycle of Fixed Assets accounting (Property and Equipment).
· Evaluate and capitalize new and existing assets in the accounting system.
· Reconcile the balance sheet accounts for the entities assigned.
· Run depreciation of all fixed assets and prepare fixed assets roll forward schedule.
· Calculate the gain/loss or the disposal of assets and ensure it is properly reflected in our reporting.
· Prepare audit schedules related to fixed assets and assist the auditors in the inquires.
· Review and record the investment activities, to analyze the possible variances and to make the necessary entries in the journals by interacting with the portfolio managers.
· Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned
