Our client is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) System Design Engineer to join their Resilience Water team in Columbus OH or Detroit, MI. Role description:

Role description:
In this role, you will be responsible for I&C and SCADA design and implementation services for industrial & municipal water and wastewater treatment, conveyance systems, and facilities.
Role accountabilities:
- Provide engineering and design services to produce design & construction documents for projects.
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, and electrical engineers assigned to the project and prepare technical memorandums and develop design criteria, SCADA system architecture, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), SCADA network diagrams, process control functional narratives, control schematics, panel layout diagrams, and interconnection diagrams.
- Assist Project Managers with project planning, scope of work development, budgeting, cost estimating, and project scheduling tasks.
- Conduct factory testing, site acceptance testing, field checkout, and I&C and SCADA system startups.
- Utilize technical experience and expertise in the execution of I&C and SCADA projects from inception to successful startup and turnover.
- Program process control logic in PLCs and configure graphical HMI for SCADA system on a variety of platforms.
- Configure historical data and generate reports on a variety of platforms.
- Develop written specifications for implementing I&C and SCADA projects.
- Travel to client sites and other office locations, as needed.
- Short-term travel in the region for project meetings, site visits, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field of study
- 5+ years of I&C, automation, and SCADA system design and implementation experience in water/wastewater market or similar industry.
- Basic proficiency in Autocad or Revit
- Ability to self-direct and work on multiple assignments at once while meeting project deliverable dates and completing other task-driven assignments
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as excellent teamwork skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook)
- Advanced knowledge in applying instrumentation and controls to process and electromechanical equipment and developing SCADA networks.
- Knowledge of designing and developing fiber optic cable networks for SCADA systems.
- Advanced knowledge of radio and cellular telemetry networks.
- Basic knowledge of IT and industrial networks.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Experience developing bid and construction documents
