Sr. Financial Accountant: Investments
3-month contract
Location: Remote (EST hours)

$49-53/hr

Must Haves:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of lifecycle and relationship to accounting events for investments in renewable energy
  • Excel (proficient)
Preferred:
  • Public accounting
  •  Experience with accounting systems and related processes (PeopleSoft, Clearwater, Blackline) knowledge is a plus

Job Description:

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for performing monthly investment reconciliations between the ledger and solar project level financials and preparation of month-end journal entries for investments in renewable energy
  • Responsible for preparation of quarterly financial results analytics for investments in renewable energy.
  • Perform consolidation processes to eliminate intercompany transactions in our financial statements resulting from our investments in renewable energy. 
  • Prepare quarterly investment disclosures related to investments in renewable energy for Global Atlantic’s 10Q/K.
  • Review and confirm consolidated financial statements, business activity reports, or reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Perform control functions in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 and NAIC Model Audit Rule.
  • Perform frequent ad hoc analysis and assist with special projects, as requested. 
Qualifications/Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Public Accounting experience is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.  
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting, US GAAP for and project financing for investments in renewable energy, familiarity with financial statements and processes including balance sheet presentation and P&L reconciliation and reporting
  • Understanding of lifecycle and relationship to accounting events for investments in renewable energy
  • Knowledge/experience in US GAAP and Statutory accounting for investments
  • Familiarity with consolidations, eliminations and intercompany accounting of SPV structures
  • Experience with accounting systems and related processes (PeopleSoft, Clearwater, Blackline) knowledge is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel;
  • Pro-active, detail-oriented, deadline-driven; possess excellent documentation and analysis skills.
  • Well organized with the ability to prioritize with a hands-on approach, schedule and manage tasks effectively, conflict resolution, problem-solving, risk management.
