Job Description
A Senior Electrical Design Engineer responsible for working closely with the Discipline Director of Electrical Engineering. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in electrical engineering and design principles, methods, and best practices. In this role, the Senior Electrical Engineer will collaborate effectively with internal teams throughout all phases of the design delivery process and will be responsible for producing high-quality documentation with minimal supervision.

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8-10 years’ experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT certification a plus.
- Federal project and/or healthcare design experience preferred.
- Familiarity with NFPA/FBC/UFC/NEC/IEEE codes and standards.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and electrical system analysis tools.
- Demonstrated leadership and emotional intelligence skills.
- Strong interpersonal, client service, and communications skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the kickoff, progress, and deliverables for projects within the Federal market sector.
- Design and oversee the development of electrical systems for various building types, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and clients to ensure engineering solutions and project objectives align with design goals and regulatory requirements.
- Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and other electrical engineering assessments to ensure system reliability.
- Review and approve electrical system designs, specifications, and construction documents to maintain quality standards.
- Conduct site visits, field inspections, and system evaluations to validate existing site and building conditions and to monitor project progress and compliance.
- Identify and address complex design challenges, ensuring innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Assist with Quality Control reviews on projects within the Federal market sector.
- Perform construction administration tasks including but not limited to attending construction progress visits, inspections, responding to requests for information (RFIs), and reviewing product submittals.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance project outcomes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, fostering professional growth within the team.
- This role may require adjusting work hours or working additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines and business demands.
