Job Description


The Clinical Pharmacology (CP) Scientific Researcher/Senior Scientific Researcher is responsible for the delivery of PK/PD analyses and reports for their assigned development project[s] in order to ensure that appropriate dose/route/schedule decisions are made for patients. S/he typically works under the supervision of a CP Scientist in order to deliver the PK/PD elements of the CP strategy in a timely manner, working closely with colleagues in data management, programming, and biostatistics to facilitate the preparation and transfer of datasets for analyses. The CP Scientific Researcher/Senior Scientific Researcher also performs other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills:
  • The successful candidate will be familiar with quantitative approaches in drug development and have hands-on experience with relevant software (e.g. NONMEM, Phoenix, R, SimCYP, GastroPlus, Python) and a demonstrated ability to plan, conduct, and refine PK/PD analyses in a timely manner.
  • S/he will also have working knowledge of data management and statistical approaches as they apply to clinical study design and data analysis, as well as working knowledge of relevant disease areas.

Communication Skills:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required in order to deliver high quality outputs for team and management review, regulatory documents, and scientific manuscripts and posters for publication.

Drug Development Knowledge:
  • The CP Scientific Researcher/Senior Scientific Researcher should be familiar with GCP and have working knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines.

Leadership:
  • Based on experience and ability, the CP Scientific Researcher/Senior Scientific Researcher may lead CP teams, project subteams, and represent CP on cross-functional project teams.

Qualifications:
  • BA or BS in Statistics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related quantitative discipline, with 0- 3 years (for Scientific Researcher/Senior Scientific Researcher) of industry, regulatory, and/or related training experience (e.g a Masters degree) preferred.
