Job Summary/Description:
The Site Quality Manager provides leadership and daily direction to the quality department and supports manufacturing operations for all major value streams and support functions within the facility.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversee the ISO Quality System. Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout all aspects of operations.
- Use database tools to identify and address quality issues and customer complaints. Use 'lean' tools to work with management eliminate these issues. Develop and analyze metrics to identify, prioritize and implement key process improvement with the Qualify Management System.
- Design and revise procedures for quality process review during the various stages of production. Verify adherence to such procedures.
- Prepare and manage both internal and external audits and ensure site is audit-ready for ISO Certification as well as any other pertinent certifications. Train and supervise auditing activities of internal auditors.
- Compile and review data on production quality and direct costs.
- Addresses scrap reduction as a key job responsibility. Work with all department heads, coordinating specific scrap related programs and projects. Chart and report results. Responsible for supporting to be analyzed by leadership team.
- Participate in research and development of new products where necessary.
- Communicate all suggested process changes with management for approval.
- Must be able to drive change despite resistance or skepticism, resulting in positive, sustainable results and a cohesive team environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Quality management background, ideally in a like industry, who has experience in ISO management and certification.
- Results Focus - Decisive, able to analyze complex scenarios to draw reasonable conclusions and recommend actions
- Ensure all related activities are performed in a safe, reasonable manner.
- Participate in any other projects or assignments as directed by Senior Management.
- Understanding and implementation of Lean Manufacturing and GMP.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, and service orientation.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and excellent platform skills.
- Must possess high standards of personal integrity.
PREFERRED
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Experience in label manufacturing is a big plus but not required.
- Demonstrated servant leadership in a team-based manufacturing environment with strong collaboration skills required.
- Knowledge of a manufacturing lean production system utilizing leader standard work, 5S, visual performance management, and autonomous maintenance, among others, is strongly preferred.
