Job Opportunity: Project Controls Lead Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Controls Lead to join our team and take charge of cost and budget management for high-profile capital projects. The ideal candidate will excel in cost control, budget tracking, and financial reporting, ensuring that all project financials align with the company’s goals and are executed effectively. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project outcomes within the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) sector. Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain cost control systems to monitor and manage project budgets.
Analyze project costs and progress, providing regular updates and recommendations to management.
Participate in developing detailed cost estimates and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and consistency across disciplines.
Lead budget tracking efforts, identifying potential risks or deviations early and implementing corrective actions.
Prepare and present project financial reports, including cash flow analysis and variance explanations.
Collaborate across engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure cost alignment and manage change orders effectively.
Utilize Primavera P6 for cost scheduling and tracking, ensuring comprehensive integration with project management systems.
Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to establish realistic budget baselines and maintain adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with financial and contractual obligations, as well as alignment with company policies and industry standards.
Advise project teams on financial best practices and efficiencies to optimize project outcomes.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a cost management role within the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) industry, managing large-scale capital projects.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 for cost scheduling and budget tracking.
Strong understanding of project cost control concepts, budgeting techniques, and financial reporting for complex construction and engineering projects.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly across multidisciplinary teams.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for tracking and financial analysis.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changes in project scope or delivery timelines.
A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with cost control processes for projects involving LM2500 peakers or GE 7FA.02 CCGT systems.
Expertise in managing cost and budget aspects of single-shaft, air-cooled combined cycle systems.
Experience in an EPC environment with a focus on disciplined engineering schedules and cost alignment.
