Product Marketing Specialist

Our client is looking for a Product Marketing Specialist to join one of the largest tech companies in the United States. This is a fully remote role, but you must be local the one of the following cities listed below. This role will oversee product launches, reactive communications, and proactive PR campaigns with a focus on consumer media. The ideal candidate is a communications expert who is proactive, can prioritize, is positive and focuses on the most important work for the long term. The person should have experience launching consumer products to traditional press, new media and influencers to reach key audiences.

Pay Rate: Up to $38/hr depending on experience & location

Product Marketing Specialist Job Description:
  • Work with communications team to support product priorities
  • Lead media strategy and execution for product updates and launches, with a focus on creators and consumer-led media
  • Represent comms on cross-functional working teams, providing comms input for go-to-market plans, strategy, and tactics
  • Collaborate with product, marketing and partnerships teams to create and execute go-to-market plans
  • Identify opportunities to tell creative, proactive stories and holistic moments outside of launches/tests
  • Manage press opportunities for company spokespeople
  • Work with global teams to manage product launch calendar and advise on regional strategy
  • Build and manage deep relationships with consumer/tech reporters, beat reporters, and new media outlets that reach priority audiences and drive coverage
  • Partner with consumer comms team through proactive press strategies and storytelling around gen-Z trends, diverse creators, music, and more

Product Marketing Specialist Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4+ years experience in PR, journalism, social media, or relevant field
  • You understand the consumer and tech media landscape and can build + maintain relationships with key press relevant to Instagram; knowledge or experience working with youth culture reporters a plus
  • You aspire to find new, exciting ways to tell product stories with a consumer and creator lens in next-gen publications and on social media platforms
  • Experience working with consumer product to drive media coverage and campaigns
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong writer with experience writing press statements, blogs, narratives and social copy
  • Analytical problem-solver who can think quick on your feet to find solutions
