**Job Title: Applications/Windows Support Engineer**
**Job Responsibilities and Qualifications:**
1. **Primary Role and Importance**:
- **On-site Support**: The candidate must be available on-site 3 to 4 days a week. Particularly in the initial phase, there will be a heavy on-site presence during hardware and software upgrades, especially in the months of Oct/Nov.
- **Flexible Timing**: Must be able to accommodate after-hours or early morning hours for support, especially for clients in the UK.
- **Troubleshooting**: Emphasis on addressing connection issues like permissions, server access, etc.
2. **Software & Applications**:
- **Solidworks**: Exposure is beneficial but not required.
- **Microsoft Dynamics**: Familiarity is essential, but in-depth expertise or knowledge of individual features is not required.
- **Other Software**: Proficiency in Office 365, Azure, Active Directory, and Windows Server is necessary. Tasks include adding users, computers, security groups, distribution lists, adding mailboxes, and file share setup.
3. **IT & Hardware Support**:
- **Ticketing System**: Manage the ticket system, service desk, and routing tickets.
- **IT Challenges**: Address issues ranging from licensing, password resets, blue screens, to hardware and software challenges.
- **Computer Management**: Assist with PC refreshes, set up computers for new users, and manage end-of-life computer recycling. Experience with imaging laptops and some client software configuration is vital.
4. **Desirable Qualities & Mindset**:
- **Security Focus**: A security-focused approach is essential. Experience with soc audits, soc2, etc., is a plus.
- **Urgency and Prioritization**: Must have a sense of urgency and the ability to effectively prioritize workload and issues.
- **Communication**: Strong skills and approachability are essential.
- **Workflow Understanding**: Must understand process workflows and incident response.
5. **Additional Skills & Experience** (Nice to have):
- **Power BI and Scripting**: Beneficial but not mandatory.
- **Networking**: Experience, particularly with IP Address routing, VLANs, WiFi/LAN troubleshooting, and network security.
- **Virtual Environments**: Experience with VDI – VMware, vSpear, Azure VMs.
- **SharePoint**: Beneficial to have experience.
- **Backup Solutions**: Background in Acronis Backup & Recovery is a plus.
- **Documentation**: A proven record in creating or contributing to Knowledge Base articles.
**Key Note**: The candidate's ability to be on-site 3 to 4 days a week and flexibility with timings is of utmost importance. Full remote work is not an option for this role.
