Merchandising Manager

Location: Hybrid in Beaverton (Onsite Monday – Thursday, Remote Friday)
Duration: ~5 Months
Pay: up to $48.00/hour, DOE
 
Planet Interactive is looking for a Merchandising Manager to join our well known retail brand on a 5 month contract! This role is 40 hours per week and will be hybrid in Beaverton, OR.

With the focus of this role on the Expression side of the Footwear Creations process, this person will need to have a great understanding of footwear, trends in color, graphics and material and be the pulse for style and what our Athletes are looking for. This person will also need to understand and utilize market trends, consumer behaviors & analytics to build insights to bring new products to our consumer. This role will be responsible for collaborating with Design, Tech Development, Merchandising and Brand teammates to create industry leading shoes with compelling & impactful stories.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Color, Graphics and Materials of Footwear projects and build a cohesive product line and model journeys. 
  • Support the vision for footwear with the consumers in mind; how to serve them, apply insights from them and empower the business for growth.
  • Work cross functionally with Design, Development and Engineering and closely partner with a PLM responsible for the creation of new models.
  • Lead by example in every aspect of the job and work with category team members to achieve business results related to revenue growth, profitability, pricing margins, and productivity.
  • Monitor progress against objectives and adjust plans as needed, including hitting cost/margin on projects and all aspects of product management to successfully deliver the line to market.
  • Be accountable for financial results in the product line and demonstrate astute financial judgment in making key decisions.
  • Ensure the accuracy of information in internal product management systems.
  • Create and deliver impactful presentations at internal and external meetings on a regular cadence.
  • Foster strong relationships with peers across the entire team and partner closely with Merchandising and Brand to ensure integration and alignment on key initiatives, innovations, and product journeys.
  • Serve as a proactive partner during critical checkpoints & planning moments.
  • Coordinate and communicate the line or specific products to internal and external audiences.

Qualifications:
  • 5 years of product experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or 2 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Trend foresight
  • Proven track record of fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Strategic thinking, product line management and franchise management experience, with ability to drive solid X-functional plans.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including presentations
  • Exceptional attention to details and deadlines
  • Strong organizational & influencing skills
