About the Role:

As the Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager you will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting. You’ll play a key role in the preparations of the quarterly and annual financial statements, researching and accounting for complex transactions such as acquisitions, debt modifications, and equity contracts. This new opportunity will allow for you to own this process and partner with business leaders to support our growing technology company, while also mentoring Sr. staff.

What You’ll Do:

•            Assist with preparation of reporting documents (financial statements, MD&A, lender presentations and audit committee materials)

•            Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with US GAAP, including newly issued accounting pronouncements.

•            Prepare and review detailed footnote support files and disclosure checklists

•            Coordinate with external auditors and respond to audit requests as applicable

•            Develop and document processes and controls around external reporting and technical accounting to meet US GAAP requirements, as well as operational controls

•            Proactively identify issues causing inefficiencies and implement process improvements to streamline accounting processes.

•            Assists in performing technical accounting research for various areas including loan modifications, taxes, foreign currency, stock options and other matters and prepare related white-paper documentation

•            Ensures proper accounting for acquisitions and provides assistance to legal and corporate development as it relates to acquisition activity

•            Assists with preparation of quarterly debt certification reporting packages

•            Participates in the research of inquiries from other departments

•            Collaborate with treasury, tax, FP&A and operational accounting teams to ensure a smooth reporting process.

•            Assist in other duties and special projects as required

What You Need to Succeed:

•            Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

•            Active CPA license is required

•            5+ years of experience in public accounting or combination of public accounting with public company experience

•            Excellent accounting skills and strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and financial reporting.

•            Experience working with multiple legal entities

•            Ability to prioritize as needed to meet deadlines

•            Ability to work in a team environment and cross functionality

•            Ability to drive process improvement

•            Very strong organizational skills


Additional Skills That Could Set You Apart:

•            Previous financial reporting experience

•            Excellent Excel as well as analytical and complex spreadsheet skills

•            Hands-on experience with ERP systems is a plus, but not required
