Job Title: Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift
Location: New Berlin, WI 53151
Hours: Monday through Friday 3:00pm - 11:00pm 


Description
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Maintenance; the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing duties to repair and maintain machinery, equipment, buildings, and facilities requiring a broad knowledge of maintenance skills including mechanical repair, plumbing, welding, carpentry, fabrication, and a basic knowledge of electrical repair.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

1. Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services.

2. Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.

3. Make repairs or adjustments to keep equipment in production.

4. Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments to involve dismantling, inspection, machining or replacement of purchased parts.

5. Perform skilled operations such as filing and aligning bearings, and shafts; adjust feed and limit mechanisms.

6. Perform various activities relative to the installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment to involve dismantling, erection, leveling, fitting and aligning operations.

7. Perform maintenance on the buildings, facilities, and the grounds.

8. Assist to determine the nature and scope of forthcoming projects and the requirements for completion.

9. Perform preventive maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning units.

10. Maintain required maintenance logs and files.

11. Perform routine housekeeping activities in the department and ensure adherence to established safety procedures and requirements.

12. Other duties are required.
Requirements

Education and/or Experience
  • Requires a broad knowledge of mechanical repair and maintenance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required and three (3) years of related experience;
  • High school Diploma and five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible related experience;
  • Other combination of education and experience that would be equivalent or exceed above two standard.

Communication Skills

Effective oral and written communications are essential, as are interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required. Must have effective PC skills to include MS Office software such as Excel and Word. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and with frequent, established deadlines is required. Organizational and analytical skills are required.

Language Skills: Ability to speak, read, and comprehend English. Interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to write standard documentation. Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit/stand; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.

Other Qualifications: Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include various hand and power tools, metal fabrication equipment, welding equipment, plumbing equipment, and various measuring equipment.
