Overview:
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with stakeholders and other engineers to design cost-effective operational processes and building ergonomics for reduction and elimination of safety risks.
- Design, redesign, or enhance work areas and processes so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated
- Maintain knowledge of best practices in operation methods, trends and developments in technology and equipment; apply this knowledge to maintain the organization’s competitive edge.
- Identify and assess various problems and departures from established standards and best practices; research, recommend, and implement solutions.
- Develop and maintain management information, planning, and control systems and designs and oversee the implementation of large and moderately complex operational processes.
- Develop and implement systems to increase efficiency in all areas of the enterprise, including but not limited to quality control, supply chain, employee productivity, and cost reduction.
- Conduct time studies and work sampling to determine the most efficient methods of performing tasks and analyze the data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
- Develop ergonomic solutions to reduce injuries and improve employee comfort and productivity and develop and implement automation systems that use computers and other technology to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all aspects of the operation are running smoothly. Ensure that operational consistency by creating and implementing maintenance schedules for equipment.
- Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary.
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Thorough understanding of ergonomics and applicable industry standards
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis and quality control procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
- Bachelor’s degree Engineering from an ABET accredited university OR Engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited university plus Professional Engineering license.
