Grants Assistant
Contract – 3 months
Boston, MA
Pay Range: $23.64-$25.64/hr
Must Haves:
The Grants Assistant will provide administrative support in the implementation of vital public safety, preparedness, and health related federal grants.
Specific duties will include: Assist members of the team with the public procurement and contract execution process for all homeland security and grant funded projects to include:
The successful applicant will demonstrate all or most of the following skills:

Must Haves:
- Associate's Degree or 2 years of relevant work experience
- 1 year of previous Grants Administration Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to edit and create documents and reports
- Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Programs including, Word, Excel, Outlook, and proficient with Adobe
The Grants Assistant will provide administrative support in the implementation of vital public safety, preparedness, and health related federal grants.
Specific duties will include: Assist members of the team with the public procurement and contract execution process for all homeland security and grant funded projects to include:
- Drafting procurement documents;
- Vendor research and outreach; and
- Processing of purchase orders and contracts.
- Assist in data entry related to homeland security and grant reporting requirements, as well as provide inventory tracking support.
- Assist in the review and processing of vendor invoices and requests from municipal departments for backfill and overtime reimbursement.
- Provide administrative, general office, system, and project support to the team.
The successful applicant will demonstrate all or most of the following skills:
- Time management and organizational skills;
- Understanding of multi-step processes and how to work within them in a team environment;
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines;
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal);
- A professional demeanor and a positive “can do” attitude, with high customer service standards;
- Willingness to perform administrative functions as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and database management; and
- Advanced computer skills including working with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and Adobe.
