High Level Project Overview:
This position is for a QA/QC Project Administrator to represent the client for the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) Project. The CVOW project entails the construction and installation of 176 wind turbine generators and associated equipment off the coast of Virginia Beach, Virginia as well as the four (4) onshore transmission network scopes including: the underground transmission; overhead transmission; a new switching station; and the expansion of an existing substation.
The QA/QC Project Administrator will report to the Energy QA Project/Program Manager for the CVOW Project. This position is responsible for providing leadership to ensure successful development, implementation, and management of the Quality Assurance Program for the CVOW Project which includes four (4) onshore scope packages. This assignment will include Quality Management Administrative duties associated with the design, manufacturing, construction/installation, testing, and commissioning for the CVOW Project. This role will be responsible for assisting the QA Management Team to ensure proper compliance to the applicable codes, standards, specifications, and project documents. Day-to-day interaction with the Quality Assurance Management Team Members will be required to ensure all equipment is manufactured, transported, installed, constructed, and commissioned, as required. The candidate will be required to work with multiple contractors to ensure the design, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, and testing activities meet the clients’ requirements of the CVOW Project.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the on-site QA Manager for the On-Shore Scope of Work during the design, development and construction phases of the project and ensure seamless interface with the offshore package managers.
• Support all phases of the project for each CVOW Project Package including coordination between packages, assist the QA Managers with the coordinate of on-site safety during construction, transportation, installation, and commissioning.
• Monitor and report the status of Quality of the manufacturing and construction activities to the QA Project Manager.
• Assist in manage of project risks for the CVOW Project.
• Liaise and interface with the Transmission and Transportation and Installation Project Manager, Interface Project Manager, and Commissioning Manager regarding work plans, schedules, and requirements for construction, installation, and commissioning of projects.
• Review and monitor progress of manufacturing and provide accurate reporting to QA Project Manager.
• Provide support to the QA Team and assist in resolving technical, construction, commissioning, and warranty issues.
• Coordinate and work closely with the QA Team, Ramboll QA Team, and K2 Quality Management Team members to ensure the highest level of quality is achieved throughout the CVOW Project Life Cycle.
• Work within the ACONEX Program to log, track, and close out Quality issues.
• Participate in multiple meetings with Teams and our Contractors across the globe.
• Work with Owner’s Engineer (OE) to maintain an NCR Tracking Log across all packages an Off-Shore Installation.
• The Quality Assurance Administrator will be required to work closely with the Project/Program Manager to support the QA Team members.
Required Years of Experience:
• Minimum of 7-years of hands-on experience working as a project manager in QA/QC Management
• Minimum of 5-years of experience in Civil Construction.
Education:
• Minimum of high school diploma
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical/civil) preferred, but not required.
