External Communications Senior Lead

Location: Remote
Duration: 6 months
Pay: ~$95.00/hr, DOE
 
The Planet Group is looking for a External Communications Senior Lead to join our well-known lifestyle brand technology client on a 6-month contract. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week role working a remote schedule.

The External Communications Senior Lead serves as a central point of contact within the communications team, ensuring that messaging strategies are aligned across all external engagements. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive master messaging map to reflect latest company and executive positions, and industry trends, while incorporating inputs from various functional leaders and providing strategic advice to ensure effective and consistent organizational communications.  

External Communications Senior Lead Responsibilities:   
  • Own and maintain a master messaging map for external messaging, consistently updating it to incorporate the latest company and executive positions, and hot topics in the industry.
  • Integrate seamlessly with the communications team to stay informed on breaking news, analyzing and acting on the impact to organizational messaging.
  • Proactively manage inputs from various functional leaders, securing essential approvals prior to incorporating into broader content plans.
  • Establish a best practice process for message map utilization, and act as a central point of contact for aligning content strategies prior to submitting proposals to executive offices.
  • Serve as a communications expert in cross functional meetings, providing counsel on connecting external communications strategies with latest organizational objectives.

Visual Designer Qualifications:   
  • Strategic Communications Expertise: Detail-oriented in owning and managing a flexible messaging map adaptable to diverse audiences and changing industry topics.
  • Leadership & Influence: Strong ability to influence senior leadership on cross functional teams, establishing best practices for executive messaging in external engagements.
  • Collaborative Integrator: Skilled at integrating with wider Communications and Executive teams to stay updated on industry trends, adapting messaging strategies accordingly.
  • Insightful Advisor: Confident in providing strategic counsel to align communications plans with executive or organizational objectives.
  • Efficient Project Management: Expertise in managing time-sensitive and external facing cross functional projects, while ensuring alignment with strategic communications objectives
