Services:
As an Electrical Controls Project Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation of electrical systems. Your expertise will be essential for installation, maintenance, and repair tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. On-Site Installation and Maintenance:
· Conduct on-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical switchgear controls and stand-by systems.
· Perform routine inspections to ensure optimal system performance.
2. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
· Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in switchgear and control systems.
· Understand electrical schematics, including reading and interpreting diagrams.
· Proficiently redline and markup drawings as needed, ensuring accurate documentation.
· Work with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and ladder logic.
3. Technical Expertise:
· Understand networks, including Modbus, Ethernet, and fiber optic systems.
· Work with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems.
· Collaborate with clients to understand their technical requirements and provide expert advice.
· Provide technical support and training to clients and junior engineers as needed.
4. Safety and Compliance:
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all field service activities.
· Prepare detailed service reports and documentation for each job performed.
5. Continuous Learning:
· Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
6. Travel:
· Be prepared to travel to client sites as required, sometimes on short notice (up to 60% travel, including weekends and holidays).
7. Additional Duties:
· Flexibility to perform other assigned tasks to support the overall business objectives.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
· Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in electrical field service, particularly with switchgear controls and stand-by systems.
· Strong knowledge of electrical switchgear, control systems, and stand-by power systems.
· Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical systems.
· Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
· Understanding of PLC and ladder logic.
· Ability to redline and markup drawings.
· Knowledge of networks including Modbus, Ethernet, and fiber optic systems.
· Experience with SCADA and HMI systems.
· Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Willingness to travel extensively, up to 60% of the time, including weekends and holidays.
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification. Not Required.
· Experience with specific brands or types of switchgear and control systems, particularly Siemens, ABB, Eaton, and Schneider.
· Additional certifications in electrical safety or related areas.
