Job Description

We are looking for a VP of Finance who will have the opportunity to take responsibility for all elements of operational finance, reporting directly to the Group CFO. This person will have strong business acumen and be an excellent people leader; managing an existing team of strong finance professionals in FP&A and Accounting and continuing to build and expand the function.


The company is focused on clinical research management activities and consulting to multiple pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device end clients. Therefore, we are looking to identify someone who has previously worked ideally in a CRO (clinical research organization) and high-growth environment.



  • Serving as a financial advisor to the CFO and executive team for all on-going budget and accounting needs.
  • Create, maintain, and track annual budgets, and monthly forecasts
  • Overseeing all sides of accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, and tax preparation.
  • Drive special projects and initiatives within a fast-growing organization, such as system implementations, integration activities, and business process improvements
  • Manage cash flow vs. financing needs and strategic milestones
  • Gathering financial data for analysis and forecasting with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance.
  • Coordinating and supporting the preparation of annual, quarterly, and monthly reports.
  • Timely and accurate reporting of financial information to appropriate groups, including internal parties, private equity investors, and outside agencies as requested.




  • Strong business acumen and proven ability to effectively scrutinize and challenge assumptions and interpret the strategy and priorities of the organization in financial terms
  • 15+ years of financial and accounting experience, Life sciences or CRO industry experience is strongly preferred
  • Bachelor' s degree in a financial discipline, MBA and/or CPA preferred but not essential
  • Experience creating and presenting to key stakeholders, leadership and company boards
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and to communicate with various stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as team player, including complex, dynamic teams
  • Ability to maintain demanding timelines
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work simultaneously on multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
