Planet Interactive is looking for a Copy Editor to join our well known Fortune 500 client on a 12-month contract. This role is 40 hours per week and is fully remote but the contractor will have to work on PST hours. Candidates will be asked to complete a copyediting test if moved forward in the process.
Copy Editor Responsibilities:
- Edit and proofread assets that span digital and print communications.
- Work within AI tools during the content development stage and tweak/edit the content created.
- Deliver error-free pieces for internal copy projects, emails, social media posts, reference materials, signage, and Keynote presentations.
- Ensure that the work meets the brand standards and are reviewed before publishing/production.
- Deliver projects on time as assigned.
- Work closely with writers and other team members to maintain the highest possible standards and ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Review projects at all stages of the design and production process.
- 5+ years of experience editing communications, preferably as part of a creative team or organization.
- Background in retail is preferred.
- BA/BS preferred, or equivalent education and work experience.
- Experience or special interest in using artificial intelligence tools during content development.
- Strong writing skills.
- Solid understanding and grounding in U.S.-style English, usage, grammar, and punctuation.
- Extensive proofreading and fact-checking experience.
- Familiarity with standard style and usage guides, including The Chicago Manual of Style.
- Capacity to adapt to change, focus, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
- Ability or willingness to learnt to incorporate AI into your work.
