Machine Learning Data Scientist & Technical Consultant II – (Contract) – Hybrid/3-Days Onsite – CA
Biopharmaceutical organization seeks a Technical Consultant for a 1-year long contract with 3 days hybrid onsite just south of San Francisco, CA. Ideal candidate will have 5+ years hands-on expertise in building machine learning models to include extensive algorithms and methodology. Additionally, strong Python is required for coding and basic libraries such as scikit-learn. Lastly a strong understanding of frameworks such as TensorFlow and Keras are required, as is expertise in visualizing and manipulating big data sets. Individual will be involved in all facets of data collection, cleansing, pre-processing, making predictions and sharing insight. This person will also create training models, testing models, fine-tuning models and more. Opportunity offers a long-term contract with possible extensions within a well-known organization.
Requirements:
A BS or MS degree in the sciences or related field.
US Citizen or Green Card Holder located local to area where work is being performed.
5+ years of hands-on Python expertise and building machine learning models; a strong understanding of algorithms and methodologies is also required.
Proficiency in Python and basic libraries for machine learning such as scikit-learn.
Expertise in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and Keras.
History of working within big data set visualization and manipulation, and within a pharma environment specifically.
Working experience within a matrix organization.
Ability to be onsite within a 3-day-a-week/hybrid schedule
Willingness to travel or already be located local to San Mateo specifically.
Responsibilities:
Developing machine learning models to help achieve business objectives and metrics to track progress.
Assisting throughout the entire process to include data collection, cleansing, pre-processing, training, testing, evaluation and model interpretation, fine tuning and making predictions while also sharing insights along the way.
Analyzing various machine learning algorithms utilized for problem solving and then ranking these under probability success.
Exploring and visualizing data for further understanding, while identifying differences in data distributions influencing performance when models are deployed in real life.
Performing data mining and extraction from a variety of data sources.
Defining data pre-processing and features engineering required for a given dataset encompassing both structured and unstructured data.
Defining the data augmentation pipeline.
Analyzing large amounts of data to identify patterns, insights and solutions as needed.
Developing machine learning models that select features, create and optimize classifiers, while providing predictive capabilities throughout.
Analyzing model errors while designing strategies to overcome these.
Collaborating with data scientists and software developers in the deployment and operationalization of machine learning models.
Presenting results to data science teams and business stakeholders.
